You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward.

1) EMOTIONALLY: you don’t have to pull yourself together in order to face a new day. You can and will get through this…and it’s OKAY not to like your circumstances.

2) PHYSICALLY: you don’t have to be “back to normal”, or even doing “better” in your eyes or the eyes of your friends, family, doctors, or caregiver, in order to to move forward. Take SIMPLE steps. Rest when you need it. The little steps add up.

3) MENTALLY: if you feel mentally weak, drained, or exhausted, then it’s okay, It doesn’t mean you can’t or won’t improve. Thats part of brain injury and it is going to happen. You may not always be able to explain how you feel. You can’t always express it. You can’t always think of the right word. But that’s OKAY. You can still make progress. Allow yourself to relax, breathe, and move at your own pace.
