Pumpkin Seeds: The Perfect Fall Brain Food

This autumn here at Hope After Head Injury we are focusing on ways to feel better with brain injury. One way is through nutrition! What you put into your body has a profound effect on the way you feel, which includes your brain.

What better way to start off than talking about a fall snack that is good for your brain too?

Pumpkin seeds are a GREAT brain food. They are rich in Omega 3 oils, which multiple studies have shown significantly help healing from brain injuries, and Zinc, which has been shown to help with memory and cognition.

Plus...they are tasty and a great go-to snack for fall! You can either buy them at a grocery store or online, or get them the old fashioned way...from inside a pumpkin.

This weekend I carved pumpkins with my family, and we saved and roasted the pumpkin seeds. They taste great warmed in the oven with a little garlic salt and oil. :) Try it yourself and let me know what you think!

XO, Cristabelle
