Do you ever feel like you are walking down a long and lonely road? You feel tired and alone and all you see is an endless stretch of road in front of you. You can't see an end to this pain and loneliness. Nobody seems to understand what you're going through. You are SO exhausted, both mentally and physically, and you can't seem to find the strength to take another step. But you keep walking, taking hard and painful steps, just trying to find some way out.
If you can relate, you're not alone. I've been there. Living with brain injury is NOT EASY. There are some days when you feel like you'll never make it. Those long and lonely days are the hardest... but those are also the days when you have the opportunity to make a CHOICE to keep going!
I've learned to love the hard days, because those are the days that show you what you can do. You can DECIDE not to give up! You can CHOOSE to keep going! You can take another step!! These hard days are the days that you will look back on and be able to say, "Wow... I can't believe I made it through... but somehow I did." You'll be able to look back and see how far you've come. But only if you take another step.
Never give up. Keep fighting. You can do this.
