It can be hard to reveal that you're struggling with a brain injury. You can "look normal", while every day (actually, more like every moment) is a struggle. The temptation is to hide the struggles. Maybe you have people in your life telling you that you are "fine" and to just "try harder" or just "be positive", so you bury it and try very hard to be "fine"... until, you're not.
It isn't weakness to reveal struggles. It takes courage. It shows strength. Putting yourself out there isn't easy, but it's really necessary to healing with a brain injury. It's so important to know that you are not alone in dealing with these type of symptoms! :) Talking to others in the brain injury community will be able to show you that you are not "crazy", your struggles are not uncommon, and it can be a relief. Surround yourself with people who lift you up!
Most importantly, if you don't have anyone you can talk to about your brain injury experience... find someone. Go to a local support group. Join the online group (www.facebook.com/groups/hopeafterheadinjury). Whatever you have to do - we all need support! <3
