"I have limitations that I must accept and work with." Amanda's Survivor Story

"I woke up 3 days after our car accident. I was told that one of the EMT's told my step-father that I didn't look good and that he needs to be strong for my mother in the case that I died on the way to the hospital. My brain was bleeding and while I was in the ICU, my brain was swelling and the doctors thought they might have to do surgery to relieve the pressure on my brain. Luckily, that wasn't necessary and I woke up a few days later. It's been almost 11 months since the accident. I've learned a lot about myself and this experience. No matter how severe the storm might be that you're going through, God will keep his promise to you by providing for you and keeping you safe. My faith has been tested a lot this year, but he won't abandon me and he has my entire life planned out. Despite the fact that I cannot see what he has planned for me; I have to have faith that he will provide and protect me. My healing is progressive and despite the complications that I'm still experiencing from my TBI, I will come out stronger because of this experience. Even though I've struggled with severe depression, so much so that I didn't want to continue living this life, I knew that I had to keep waking up and putting one foot in front of the other and realize that I have limitations that I must accept and work with. I have a purpose. We all have a purpose. Never forget that." -Amanda, TBI Survivor ••• ➡️Your quote can be featured!
