"Who am I now?" - Azra's Survivor Story

"Just because you can't see a broken brain does not mean it's not broken. The more you tell your friend or loved one just to get on with it, you're killing a bit more of them that this awful thing has already robbed them of. They would love to be normal and like they were before, but something came and took it away without warning or without permission. Just came in like the apocalypse and stole their soul, their essence, their being, their energy, their life force, their dreams, their hopes, their zest for life, their independence, their motivation and most of all their safety. And flung it away like it didn't matter. But it does matter or it did before this awful thing made them not feel. But on days of pain... we feel grief, we feel sad, we feel betrayed, we feel so disappointed, and most of all we feel so lost. Who am I now?" -Azra Hall, ABI survivor ••• ➡️Your quote can be featured!
