"I was in a serious car accident on the 2nd of December 2016, I suffered 3 skull fractures that caused facial paralysis which I'm still trying to over come, a brain injury, I had brain bruising I was bleeding from inside my left ear along with a collapsed lung. I don't remember the accident so when I woke up from intensive care I was very confused about why I was in hospital. I’ve lost half my hearing on my left ear. It's the hardest thing I’ve had to deal with. I've cried myself to sleep most nights not understanding why I'm not the same person anymore. I have headaches everyday, dizziness, I often get jumbled up with some words I say. I'm very sensitive to bright lights and sounds, I get frustrated! At 18 years old I’ve had to leave my studies. But I'm proud of how far I’ve come, I want to raise awareness about having TBI and thank the people that saved my life, I'm determined to do what I need do to get through this even when I feel like I can't keep going because its tough but you are tougher!" -Cliona, TBI Survivor ••• ➡️Share your story for#braininjuryawarenessmonth!
